OSGNA BOARD MEETING
3-25-2011
  1. The meeting was called to order at 905 PM.
  2. Members present: Joan Metze, Terrie Geil, Karen Strader Helton, Sandi Amos, Val Dedman and Kim McNary
SECRETARY REPORT: by Kim
  1. Minutes from the 1-22-2011 board meeting were approved by Terrie and Sandi.
PRESIDENTS REPORT: by Joan
  1. The colon cancer walk / run will be at Lunken playfield on 4-16-2011. There will not be a colon cancer walk in Columbus.
  2. Dawn from Cook Medical can arrange for OSGNA members to have three dinners with free contact hours. There is a potential to have the meeting Skype to Columbus and Dayton. The Columbus rep could possible have contact hours also.
  3. Membership in OSGNA is declining, and Joan called members to remind them to renew there membership.
TREASURER REPORT: by Karen
  1. Current balance - request from treasurer. 
  2. IRS gas mileage - 51 cents
  3. Membership - 184
  4. Audit completed by Gerry Seegar
  5. 2011 OSGNA regional conference  - 72 registrations with 4 walk ins - $4,680 and $4,160 vendor fees with 4 out standing fees.  2 members requested refunds, both were voted on according to the policy for "Refunds for OSGNA Seminars."
EDUCATION / LEGISLATION REPORT: by Joan
  1. Nurses Day at the State House has been changed to July 2011.
  2. Multistate conference is in Milwaukee Wisconsin October 7-9, 2011. OSGNA is responsible for the brochure. Kim and Shirley are OSGNA' s representatives.
PAST PRESIDENT REPORT: by Joan
  1. 17 vendors with 4 unpaid currently.
  2. Several vendors are donating baskets as door prizes.
NEWSLETTER / HISTORIAN  / PR: by Joan and Sandi
  1. The second Newsletter is not out yet. Our webmaster states there is a computer glitch, and will be available to members soon.
  2. Next Newsletter deadline is June 1, 2011. Please send Sandi articles about Nationals, Multistate, or the OSGNA regional conference.
  3. At the next board meeting Joan would like to discuss and vote on the policy 'Educational Course Fees for OSGNA DIrectors."
  4. OSGNA website - there have been comments from members that the site is not very user friendly. Kim will communicate with the webmaster.
NEW BUSINESS: by Joan
  1. Where is our organization going? - We will continue to be green with information to the members through the website. Do we need a mission/ vision statement? We will discuss at next meeting.
  2. Attendance at Nationals - Joan, Shirley, Terrie, Kim.
  3. Date to place past OSGNA records on flash drive April 9, 2011 at Joan's.
